To do as commanded, God's worshippers must enjoy Him and His presence as least as much, and in the same way, that committed sports fans do a good baseball, football, hockey or other game!

Blessings all!

What is meant by "joyful noise" in Psalm 95:1 KJV -- "O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation". Psalms 95 and Psalm 96 are widely considered to be paired together in both theological theme and liturgical structure.

Thus, I think making a joyful noise is (1) according to Psalm 96:3a Proclaiming or "Tell[ing] the nations about his [God's] splendor! Psalm 96:3 = 1 Chronicles 16:24 -- This is giving God honor, reverence, and glory. I like to do this in song. And there is a great contemporary song that I love. It is "Psalm 95:1, 6 & 96:4, 6 (KJV) Scripture Memory Fellowship" You can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bo87bzpKxs

And then Psalm 96:6a adds, "Majestic splendor emanates from him."

(2) Proclaiming his sovereignty (Psalm 96:4-5, 10): God is above all gods, and He reigns. Psalm 96:10 = 1 Chronicles 16:31. The Hebrew word for "reigns" is malak. But God is above all kings. מֶלֶךְ (melek) is the Hebrew word for "king." Jesus is the King of kings! The ministry significance is this: Missions: The global scope of God’s reign fuels evangelism—“Say among the nations, ‘The LORD reigns’” (Psalm 96:10).

(3) Proclaiming his strength (Psalm 96:3, 6): His strength is in His sanctuary (Ps 96:6a).

The Hebrew word for strength is oz and means might. Psalm 96:6 = 1 Chronicles 16:27 – strength and beauty are in His sanctuary. God’s own ʼoz is unparalleled and celebrated from the Exodus to the Prophets. It is an essential attribute": I.e. this might is a core, inherent quality of God. It is not that it might be; it is!
