Mark 3:25 KJV
[25] And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

If two people are not in agreement on running the family, the family will not function properly. The house must be in agreement, you can not have a house where one person believes in god and the other one believes in the devil. Which church will the family go to, whom will they worship together as one family? Take children for example if the parent are not in agreement on making sure that the child gets the best education, what happens to the child she/he falls and will not have a great future. But if the parents agree the child will flourish to his /her greatest potential.
A house must stand together on every matter, or the family will not be a family. The family will crumble apart, but if the house is not divided how well and strong will it be.

It goes along with you can't serve two masters at one time.
