Premise 1: Everything that began to exist has a cause for its existence;

Premise 2: The universe has a beginning of its existence;

Conclusion:The universe has a cause of its existence.

For a much more in depth look at the cosmological argument, I recommend reading William Lane Craig. He uses the Kalam Cosmological argument, which is a slight variation of the classical cosmological argument.
