When God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply, he was telling them to have children who would have children who would have children and so on.

Think of parents who have two children. If those two children have two children of their own, and this happens again and again, the number of people would multiply quickly. The original family of four would turn into a family of many in just a few generations.

The International Children's Bible says it simply:
God blessed them and said, “Have many children and grow in number. Fill the earth and be its master. Rule over the fish in the sea and over the birds in the sky. Rule over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Genesis 1:28)

Your assignment is to figure out the exact number of people (from the above example) who would be at the family reunion after 4 generations. :)
