The large majority of the Church Fathers say that the Antichrist will be a Jew and accepted by the Jews as the Messiah, and that the Woman of Rev. 12 refers to both the Virgin Mary and to the NEW Israel, which is the Church, not to Israel of the Old Covenant.

It deals with the first half of the tribulation (Rev. 11:3; 1,260 days). This is the period in which the 2 witnesses minister. See Warren Wiersbe's NT Commentary.

Said differently, "The time frame of these two witnesses—1260 days—equals three and a half years. This period is elsewhere defined as 42 months (Revelation 11:2) and 'a time, and times, and half a time' (Rev. 12:14). A 'time' is one year, 'times' is two years, and 'half a time' is a half a year." Ron Rhodes' ebook, 40 days Through Revelation

Personally, I don't believe Wiersbe can be that dogmatic because we don't know for sure that this time period is referring to the first half or the last half of the tribulation. Granted, the first half makes better sense. The NLT Study Bible calls the 42 months and 1260 days a broken seven (Dan 7:24-25; 8:26; 9:24-27). And Daniel 9:24-27 speaks about 'The Seventy Weeks' here:

24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

There is contempt in the temple of God when the Gentiles trample the holy city for 42 months. (Revelation 11:1-2) That's the prophecy of Revelation 11:2b. --Harold Wilmington
