No it is not a sin, making it more important than what is on the inside(who you are well whose you are,which should be GODS)that is were the sin is, if the jewelry is more important that GOD then it would be considered sin. Old Testament talks about the children of Israel,(Gods people)taking off their jewelry to keep GOD from leaving them, this was to my understanding to basically tell God that the jewelry was not as important as HE IS! If you sense that jewelry is too much of a focal point for you then maybe you should not wear it until you understand that everything you have GOD has giving and has given for you to enjoy...
