I understand how evil entered creation via the fall, but it seems to me that something (evil) that had never existed before suddenly came to be. This thing we call "evil" which didn’t exist in God’s perfect creation had to have an origin. In essence, did Satan “create” evil?

Evil was created by Satan (originally the angel Lucifer) through his willful, prideful desire to be God Himself, rather than God's servant, and his subsequent rebellion against God, for which he was cast out of heaven, along with the angels who joined him in rebellion. This is described in Isaiah 14:12-15 (a literal description of the king of Babylon, but also a symbolic depiction of Satan's fall), as well as by Ezekiel (Ezekiel 28:13-19)(similarly a multi-level description of the King of Tyre and of Satan), by Jesus (Luke 10:18), and by Peter (2 Peter 2:4).
In Isaiah 45:7 KJV God says "I form the light and create darkness: I make peace and create evil: I The Lord do all these things. All things are created by God, we have the choice to choose good or evil. Deut 30:15 KJV See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; We can conquer all things through Christ Jesus!
