What does it mean that in the latter times some will apostatize/depart from the faith?
This passage states that in later times there will be some who fall away from the faith (verses 1-2). Many call these individuals, apostates, and I have heard of this experience as being called The Great Apostacy. Are these people former Christians?
1 Timothy 4:1 - 5
ESV - 1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons. 2 Through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared.
