Some possible ways:

Confess our sins (1 John 1:9). Don't blame God for problems caused by our own actions or disobedience (as Adam and Eve did in Genesis 3:12-13, for example).

Bear fruit (John 15:8; Colossians 1:10). Perform good works -- not to be saved (Ephesians 2:8-9), or to draw attention to ourselves (Matthew 6:1-18), but as a means of glorifying God for the salvation that He has already given, and as a quiet, visible witness to others about His life-changing power.

Give praise and thanksgiving to God. Be humble and self-effacing. Credit Him for our successes. (Psalm 50:23; 2 Samuel 12:26-31)

Be content with our situation. (Philippians 4:11-13)

Have faith in God's ability to work even what seem to be adverse circumstances for our ultimate good (Romans 8:28).

Pray in Jesus' name, and according to God's will (John 14:13; James 4:3).

Promote the proclamation of God's word (2 Thessalonians 3:1).

Lead others to Christ (2 Corinthians 4:15).
