Mystery of God's character is beyond human thinking. He has been personally active and at the same time He is also set apart from it. Thus we have the mystery of immanence and transcendence. These two are related to the relationship of God with His created world. The immanence of God is seen in Ps.65:9-13, Job33:4 and in Isaiah 63:11.

Both immanence and transcendence are found in Isaiah 57:15, Acts 17:24,28. God is not only personal and dwells with in man, He is also exalted above all creation. He is active and present in the world and yet He is superior and immutable.

We are finite beings and our God is infinite. The Bible says in Isaiah 55:8-9 that His thoughts and ways are different from the thoughts and ways of man. It is impossible to define God. He is infinite in relationship to time and space. He is omnipresence, omniscience, omnipotence and immutable. God is unlimited in time and space(Ps. 115:3). His power is directly related to His sovereignty. What He chooses,He accomplishes (Ps. 33:11). His plans are immutable, firm and is untouched and unsustained by the evil in this world. He is absolutely pure and good (Job 34:10). God's justice is His official righteousness(Ps.50:4). He does not show favoritism and partiality to anyone (Acts10:34).

God' s love and grace are also His transcend characteristics. He sent His one and only Son to die on the cross to redeem the lost (Jn.3:16, 1Jn. 4:9). It was His agape love that compelled His act of self-sacrifice. God's love initiates His grace towards man. His grace is exemplified in Rom.5:6,8.

Our God is a transcend being while we are human being. We come to the transcend God through prayers and worship. Our God is personal and does reveal himself to people. For a finite being to know a transcend God is impossible.
