In Genesis 6:7, God stated that He intended with the Flood to blot out "from the face of the ground man and beast and creeping things and birds of the air." No mention was made of forms of life that lived in water.

In Genesis 6:17-20, He told Noah that He was going to destroy "everything that is on the earth". He then instructed Noah to bring into the ark the male and female "of the birds according to their kinds, and of the animals according to their kinds, of every creeping thing of the ground according to its kind". No mention was made of fish or other aquatic life.

That those aquatic forms of life survived the Flood is indicated to me by God saying in Genesis 9:2 (after the Flood was over) that the fear and dread of man would be in every form of animal life, including "all the fish of the sea".

Therefore, I would conclude that aquatic forms of life were not included on the ark itself, but survived the Flood in their natural habitat.
