Meaning of incarnation of Christ

Incarnation (Christianity) The Incarnation is the Christian belief that Jesus Christ is the God of Israel in a human body.

In Christian theology, the incarnation is the belief that Jesus Christ, the 2nd person of the Trinity, also known as God the Son or the Logos, "was made flesh" by being conceived in the womb of a woman, the virgin, Mary. The doctrine of the incarnation, then, means that Jesus is fully God and fully human.

The reasons for the incarnation of Christ include:

(1)	To reveal the invisible God to men (John 1:18; 14:9)
(2)	To provide an example for living, especially for believers (1 Peter 2:21; 1 John 2:6)
(3)	To provide or make a sacrifice for sin, i.e. for our sins (Hebrews 2:9; 10:4-5, 10, 12; 1 John 3:5; Mark 10:45)
(4)	To destroy the devil and his works (Hebrews 2:14; 1 John 3:8)
(5)	To be highly exalted (Philippians 2:9)
(6) The vertical reason (1 John 1:3): That we might experience fellowship with both the Father and Son.
(7) The horizontal reason (1 John 1:4): That we might share our joy with one another.
