When Philip said to Jesus in John 14:8, "Lord, show us the Father and we shall be satisfied," Jesus replied, "Have I been with you so long, Philip, and yet you do not know Me? He who has seen Me has seen the Father." Paul expressed the same thought when he said in Colossians 2:9, "For in Him [Jesus] dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." If Philip was mildly rebuked by Jesus for what might seem to us to be a "natural" request, how much less cause for such a request will we have in the eternal presence of the risen, ascended, and glorified Christ! I believe by faith that, in our eternal end state, the Father and the Holy Spirit will relate to us through the resurrected and glorified Christ. I leave the matter of whether the Father and the Holy Spirit will choose to manifest themselves in visible or audible form (as they did in passages such as Matthew 3:16-17, Luke 9:28-36, and John 12:28) entirely to God. To me, it will be enough to know that we will be with Christ forever.
When Jesus ascended to heaven he did so in his glorified body. He is still in His glorified body at the right hand of God. We will receive glorified bodies like His. When Jesus died He was 33 years old. When we get our glorified bodies we will be like Him. 33 years old. They will be physical bodies. We will eat and drink. We shall be like Him. Colossians 3:1-3 We are already dead an our lives are in heaven hidden with Christ. We just have not experienced it yet. Part of our predestination is finished, but not all. We are predestinated to be there at the resurrection. We are already their spiritually. John 5:24 We have already passed from death unto life. We just have not experienced yet. But the bible says we will have physical bodies just like His body. We shall be like Him. Physical bodies without sin. Finally. When we die Paul said, absent from the body, present with the Lord. So, our soul/spirit never dies. Just our sinful body dies. But at the resurrection we will receive our resurrected physical bodies. We shall be like Him.
Exodus: 33:17-23 states that God said to Moses he could not see his face as no man can look upon me and live. Then the scripture goes on to say that God told Moses he would cover him with his hand and Moses would see his hind part. I believe that we are created in the image of God and there is a body. 1 Corinthians 15:42-49 tells us that there is an a resurrected body when Christ comes for his church. There is a natural body and There is a spiritual body.
