8 And the palace in which he was to live, set farther back, was similar in design. Solomon also made a palace like this hall for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had married.

I would say that the separate palace was viewed as due to her in recognition of her status (apart from being married to the king of Israel) as a person of royal descent herself (since she was Pharaoh's daughter), even though she was not from the nation of Israel.

2 Chronicles 8:11 gives us this insight into why Solomon built a separate palace for Pharaoh’s daughter:

Solomon brought Pharaoh’s daughter up from the City of David to the palace he had built for her, for he said, “My wife must not live in the palace of David king of Israel, because the places the ark of the LORD has entered are holy.” (NIV)
