The best way to assess your intimacy with God is to examine yourself and see if you are obeying his commandments. John 14:15 states that "If you love me, you will keep my commandments." We need to be sure that we are keeping ourselves as pure from sin as possible. In addition, examine how much you are doing for Jesus. As an 18-year-old who only recently came to Christ, God probably doesn't expect me to hit the streets and preach the gospel when I get out of school today at 3:00, but I always need to be vigilant of how much I'm talking with Jesus, reading the Bible or other Christian literature, or doing good deeds. Likewise, examine how much time you're spending in things that don't honor God that much, like TV. I am trying to get into the habit of not playing video games until 4:00 PM on school days, and instead visiting relatives or volunteering, both things that honor God far more than Law and Order: SVU ever could. I'm not saying you even need to spend most of your time directly worshipping Jesus, just spend enough time to keep you connected to God, plus a little extra on top to ensure you're not in idolatry. If you want a specific amount of time you should be spending with Jesus, I honestly don't have an answer for you. Hopefully, your total time with Jesus is improving as you get more spiritually mature. If not, then it's probably time to take another look at your spiritual life, as I did during a spiritual awakening in 2018.
