The main strengths of the Mid-Tribulation/Pre-Wrath rapture timing come from the similarities between Matthew 24 and Revelation 6-7.

Consider Matthew 24:29-31
“Immediately after the anguish of those days,
the sun will be darkened,
the moon will give no light,
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.

And then at last, the sign that the Son of Man is coming will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

And he will send out his angels with the mighty blast of a trumpet, and they will gather his chosen ones from all over the world—from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven.

In Matthew 24, Jesus is giving us a timeline of what will happen immediately prior to the rapture. These seem to line up with the 6th seal described in Revelation 6-7.

1. Signs with the sun and the moon (Rev 6:12, Matt 24:29)
2. Stars fall, Heavens shake (Rev 6:13-14, Matt 6:29)
3. Jesus is revealed, Deep mourning (Rev 6:15-17, Matt 24:30)
4. Rapture (Rev 7:9.14, Matt 24:31)
