Jesus Christ is the Son of God and was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born of a woman. Now according to His humanity He was born of the seed of David. See Matthew 1 and Romans 1:2

The two women listed in the genealogy of Jesus Christ are Rahab and Ruth, who were great great grandmother and great grandmother of King David.

The gospels reveal the deity and the humanity of Jesus Christ, Son of God and Son of man.

The Bible does not state who the mother of Joseph or who the mother of Mary were. It does provide two genealogies, one in Matthew and one in Luke, which trace the lineages through the males, which was the practice of that culture at that time. The linkage with David is important, as it was a promise by God that the Messiah would be his descendant. Other than that, the question of ancestry is not that important, because the focus is on the faith of individuals, not their ancestors.
