How do I get my mind to stop questioning?

I'm reading the Bible and praying everyday but my mind is so tired. My mind tries to wrap around how God works...my mind wonders how can prevent something or do something...I guess my mind tries to put God on our level which I know he's not but my mind tries to understand so I can have faith and I feel like I'm doomed. I spoke with a Christian yesterday and he said we are predestined to Heaven so I feel like I'm not a chosen one.

John 5:24

ESV - 24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

The doctrine of predestination basically states that God has chosen some people to be saved and others to be lost - however, this doctrine is not Biblical. This would imply that God works to both ensure the salvation of the righteous but also works to ensure the destruction of the wicked. If that is true, then God is minister of sin since sin causes the sinner to be lost.

The Bible clearly tell that Jesus died to ensure Salvation of ALL: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

Please also consider other Scriptures that clearly show how God wants all humanity saved, not just some: 2 Peter 3:9; Ezekiel 33:11; 1 Timothy 2:4.

If only some are predestined to be saved, why would Jesus offer salvation to all? Christ in Revelation 22:17 said, “Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.”

Unfortunately, some Christians confuse God’s foreknowledge with predestination. God certainly does not predestine people to go to heaven or go to hell. It is our choice to either accept God's free gift of salvation or reject it.

In regards to your inability to concentrate on God's Word, do not feel discouraged - you are not alone. The devil is not happy when people are studying the Scripture because he know that in God's Word is life (John 6:63).

Before you open the Bible, ask God to send His Holy Spirit to guide and give you the wisdom to understand what are you reading and to believe in His Word. Early in the morning is preferable because your mind is rested and better suited for study. Find a quiet place, eliminate all distractions and try to focus on what you are reading at that very moment - God will certainly guide you to victory (Matt 12:20).

I would like to share this verse of Scripture with you in 1Corinthians 2:14 ESV, it reads as follows: "The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

To simplify things, stop trying to figure God out and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal who He is to you. The Holy Spirit is the One who has been sent to us as believers to live in the heart of every one of us who has received Jesus as Savior and Lord.

Allow the Holy Spirit to bring you into the place of rest in the finished work of Christ that was accomplished on the Cross. I encourage you to read Philippians 4:6 and allow the peace of God to rule in your heart and mind.

Trust me, discipleship is a daily process, but you're not alone. The Holy Spirit is there to assist you in your faith walk. The Word of God has to be received by faith, not by our intellect. See Romans 10:17

Now as it pertains to predestination, God planned before the foundation of the world to redeem mankind by the sacrificial death of His Son. It is the will of God that all be saved, however, we have been given a freewill to choose our destiny. We will either accept or reject God's plan of salvation.

Be comforted by this, if you believe that God raised Christ from the dead according to the Scriptures, you have been delivered from the wrath that is to come upon those who reject Jesus.

I pray that you will not be misled by false doctrine. The subject of predestination has caused many people to feel like you stated. You are not doomed if you have put your faith in the Word of God.

Please ask the Holy Spirit to lead you and guide you into all truth, because that is what He has been sent to do. Depend on Him and Him alone, it will eliminate a lot of unnecessary confusion.

We are living in the last days and there are many false teachers in the world. We are living in a time of great deception. I pray that you will be rooted and grounded in the Word of God, and not fall prey to the wiles of the devil.

I would like to make this last comment, we can always choose to depart from the faith, because as I stated before, God has given us a free will. But it is written in Matthew 24, that it is "he who endures to the end that shall be saved." I hope that what the Holy Spirit has used me to share with you will bring you comfort and peace. I look forward to seeing you in Heaven, your sister in Christ!

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus finished work on the cross.

Satan is the accuser of the brethren. He hates God grace that covers us from all sin forever, and we can no longer be condemned. John 3:18.

There are numerous bible verses to remember to know you have eternal life now. First John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.

John 6:47 Verly, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, HATH EVERLASTING LIFE. Jesus said it, we believe it, and that settles it.

First Corinthians 15:1-4. That Christ died for our sins, (all of them forever) according to the scriptures, that He was buried and rose again according to the scriptures. When we believe that gospel that our sin debt is paid in full, He seals us with the Holy Spirit of promise. Ephesians 1:13-14.

Now you can repeat these words. John 10:28-29 Jesus gave me eternal life, and I shall never perish, neither can any man pluck me out of His hand. And His Father who is greater than all, No one can pluck me out of His hand.

You can no longer be condemned no matter what. John 3:18. If you have sinned so bad that you believe Jesus does not love you anymore, remember He willingly went to that cross just because He loved you so much, He was willing to die so that you could live with Him in heaven forever and ever.

Gods grace is greater than all our sin. Paid in full. No longer condemned.

First John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. We all sin all the time. But the grace of God covers us from all sin.

Remember, the GIFT of God is eternal life. We did nothing for it, and we can do nothing for it. It is a free gift. Once you have eternal life, you can not lose it or it would not be eternal. And since it is a gift, we have to do nothing to keep it. Ephesians 2:8-9 A one time faith alone in Jesus finished work on the cross alone apart from any works.

John 3:16 Gods love for us is never changing. Jesus said it, we believe it, and that settles it. No longer condemned. John 3:18 All our sins are paid, past, present and future sins we have not even thought of yet. Romans 4:7-8. Just remember to thank him for giving you the free gift of eternal life. Just thanking Him will give you joy and peace in your heart for what He has done.

He has given you eternal life. It is a free gift so you have to do nothing to receive it or keep it. Once you believe it you have it forever. It can not be lost because it is eternal.
