The King James Version (KJV), also known as the King James Bible (KJB), sometimes as the English version of 1611, or simply the Authorized Version (AV). The way you and I can remember the publishing date 1611 is 1 Chronicles 16:11“Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.” King James Version (KJV) I use it as my primary source for memorizing Bible verses. I've done this for years, ever since 1968, when I was saved. The churches I have gone to have mostly all used it to preach from, including the church I go to now. I just love it! I have marked my King James Bibles profusely so at least I know the verses I memorized in the past. I love the poetic way it sounds as well To get a great sampling of what the KJV is, listen to it as Esther Mui sings it. Here are some of her titles: Old Testament Joshua 1:8-9 (Be Strong and of Good Courage) Psalm 3 (Salvation Belongs to the LORD) Psalm 4:7-8 (You Have Put Gladness in My Heart) Psalm 5 (Give Ear to My Words, O Lord) Psalm 15 (LORD, Who May Abide in Your Tabernacle) Psalm 23 (The Lord Is My Shepherd) Psalm 24 (King of Glory) Psalm 27:1-4 (The Lord Is My Light and My Salvation) Psalm 28:1-2, 6-9 (To You, I Will Cry, O LORD) Psalm 30 (Joy Comes in the Morning) Psalm 31:1-5 / 31:16-17, 19-21 (In You, O Lord, I Put My Trust / Make Your Face to Shine Upon Your Servant) Psalm 34:1-9 (O Taste and See that the Lord is Good) Psalm 34:17-20,22 (The Righteous Cry Out and the LORD Hears) Psalm 36:5-10 (Fountain of Life) Psalm 40:1-5 (He Has Put a New Song in My Mouth) Psalm 43:3-5 (To God, My Exceeding Joy) Psalm 59 (God Is My Defense) Psalm 61:1-4 (Hear My Cry, O God) Psalm 63:1-5 (I Will Bless You / Thus Will I Bless Thee While I Live) Psalm 73 (Whom Have I in Heaven but You?)
