This passage in 1 Th 5:18 reminds us to express gratefulness regardless. Presumably, a large number of us will have a serious Thanksgiving this year. Possibly you have lost somebody dear this year. Conceivably numerous families have been destroyed by infection, division, or different conditions.

Whatever our lot, we choose to praise the Lord in every season.

1 Th 5:18. In every thing—even what seems adverse: for nothing is really so (compare Ro 8:28; Eph 5:20). See Christ’s example (Mt 15:36; 26:27; Lu 10:21; Jn 11:41).

We are supposed to be thankful (1 Th 5:18) no matter what happens.
