I have never studied Greek, but online references indicate that neither the English word "monarchy", or the Greek word μοναρχία -- meaning "rule by one" (with that one person generally being a king or queen) -- from which the English word is derived, appears in either the Greek text of the New Testament, the Greek translation of the Old Testament (the Septuagint), or in any English translation of those sources.

(Although the words "king", "kingdom", or "kingship" appear multiple times, they derive or are translated from separate terms in Greek (βασιλεύς or βασιλεία).)
