In the book of Revelation there are 3 references to stars falling from the sky.

Revelation 6:12-15
I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place. Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.

Revelation 8:12
The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.

Revelation 12:1-4
A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born.

We know from the whole counsel of the bible that the earth will be destroyed at the second coming of Jesus Christ. The apostle Peter makes it clear in 2 Peter 3:1-17, with excerpts below:
Verse 7
By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.
Verse 10
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.
Verse 12(b) - 13
That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.

The new heaven and earth are described in Revelation chapter 21 and 22. There will no longer be any sea, any sun or any night. The glory of God will provide all the light that people need.

These passages in Revelation are precursers to the final destruction of the earth. The fact that people are still alive while these events are taking place, would indicate that the destructive processes have begun. Jesus referred to them as birth pangs before the final judgement.

Scientists who are also Christians have studies these passages and theorised what natural phenomenon may be occurring to cause the events that the apostle John is describing.

A large meteor shower descending to earth could appear like the stars were falling from the sky, and it would also make the rest of the sky appear to recede. If the meteors are large enough to penetrate the earth's atmosphere, then pieces of rock, large and small would be raining down upon the earth, which would cause people to hide in caves.

A third of the sun, moon, and stars turned to darkness could also be caused by a large meteor caught by earth's gravity and circling in orbit. The object would appear so large in the vision of people on earth, as to block out a third of the sun, moon and stars from view.

The passage in Revelation 12 is clearly using figurative language and symbolism in its reference to a third of the stars being flung to the earth. The Dragon [Satan] enticed a third of the stars [angels] to join his rebellion against God. Jesus said he saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Revelation 12:7-9 says that war broke out in heaven and Devil and his angels were hurled to earth.

The only way this can logically happen is on a flat earth with the stars being attached to the firmament. The stars according to NASA are far too large and too far away to fall to earth. It's impossible. The only way possible is if we take the Bible at face value and accept the fact that the stars are fixed in the firmament and once the firmament rolls back like a giant scroll when it melts with fervent heat, then the stars have nothing to keep them in their place.
