2 Thessalonians refers to the Antichrist, I believe. I believe the rise and dominion of Antichrist is mentioned in Second Thessalonians 2 aand Revelation 13, the latter being specifically mentioned in the question. The antichrist is the “man of lawlessness [--man of sin],” the “son of destruction [of perdition],” who will lead the world into rebellion against God (2 Thessalonians 2:3-10; Revelation 11:7).
First Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means; For that day shall not come except there come the falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, The Son of perdition. i believe the falling away in verse 3 is the rapture of the church. Apostasia means departure. It can me departing from the faith, but in this case I believe it is the departure of the saints from earth to meet the Lord in the clouds. At that point, the anti Christ, will be revealed. We may not know who he is because we will have been raptured out before that. First Thessalonians 4:13-18. We are to comfort one another with these words. First Corinthians 5:51-53 The mystery unknown until Paul preached it.
This is what we can learn from Scripture about the singular Anti-Christ who will be revealed in the end times. 1. He will arise as a world leader and will form one government to rule the world (Rev 13:1) 2. Satan will possess this person, giving him all his power, throne and authority, so he will personify all evil and wickedness (Rev 13:2) 3. He will appear to have a fatal wound which will be healed, so the whole world will be filled with wonder and follow him (Rev 13: 3) 4. People will worship Satan and the Anti-Christ (Rev 13:4) 5. He will utter proud words and blasphemies, and exercise his authority for 42 months (Rev 13:5) 6. He will blaspheme God, and slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven (Rev 13:6) 7. He will wage war against God's holy people [Jews] to conquer them (Rev 13:7) 8. He will exercise authority over every tribe, people, language and nation (Rev 13:7) 9. He will attack, overpower and kill the Two Witnesses whom God appoints to prophesy for 42 months. These witnesses will come back to life after 3 1/2 days and be taken up to heaven (Rev 11:3-12) 10. He will require all the inhabitants of the earth to worship him, everyone whose name is not written in the Lamb's book of life (Rev 13:8) 11. He will put many people in prison and he will kill many others (Rev 13:10) 12. He will raise up another leader who will become the False Prophet of a new religion to worship Satan and the Anti-Christ (Rev 13:11-12) 13. The False Prophet will perform great signs by the power of Satan to deceive the inhabitants of the earth (Rev 13:13-14) 14. The False prophet will create an image of the Anti-Christ and will give this Image the power to speak (Rev 13:15) 15. The False Prophet will declare that anyone who refuses to worship the Image of Anti-Christ will be killed 16. The False Prophet will force all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or forehead, so that they will not be able to buy or sell unless they have the mark 17. Satan, the Anti-Christ and False prophet will go out to all the kings of the world and gather them for the battle on the Great Day of God Almighty, to the place called Armageddon (Rev 16:13-14,16) 18. The Anti-Christ will establish a world economic system and a capital city called Babylon the Great, the Mother of Prostitutes and of the Abominations of the Earth to deceive and ensnare the whole world. Later, Anti-Christ will destroy Babylon completely (Rev 17:1-18; 18:1-24). The book of Revelation also describes in great detail God's judgment against the Anti-Christ (Seven Bowls of Rev 16:1-21) and Jesus final triumph over Satan, Anti-Christ and False Prophet when they will be cast into the Lake of Fire, and every human being who followed them will be destroyed (Revelation 19:11-21). Jesus wins in the end! Yeah!
