I can think of twelve types of prayers appearing in Scripture, although (to my knowledge), other than the Lord's Prayer, no specific wording or "formula" is given for them. (That is not to say that there are not others, but these are the types that come most readily to my mind (with examples).): Adoration/Praise (Psalm 148:13) Thanksgiving (1 Chronicles 16:34-35) Confession (Psalm 32:5) Vows (1 Samuel 1:10-11) Quiet Reflection (Psalm 63:6) Requests for Healing (Jeremiah 17:14) Requests for Deliverance or Help (Psalm 107:6) Intercession (Colossians 1:9-12) Transformation (Psalm 51:10-12; Psalm 139:23-24) Prayers of Blessing (Philippians 1:9-11) Submission to God's will and rule (Matthew 6:10) Supplication (Luke 18:13)
