Scripture is silent about this, but we have a few clues. We know from Gen. 6 that before the Flood the fallen angels were having children with human women and producing giants "of old, of renown". Though some believe that these were only the line of Cain, scripture says no such thing.

Given that, it's possible that those hybrid children lost their bodies when they died like humans, but their wicked spirits could not enter the realm of the dead because they were also part angel. So they roam the earth and crave to possess bodies, doing Satan's bidding.

As for Satan, we don't know that his beauty was ever physical in the first place. Whenever the heavenly angels are described, they are either taking on ordinary human form or shining with the brilliance of the sun.

The demons do have material bodies, but they are being 'kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day.' (Jude 1:6).

The Holy Spirit tells us through the apostle Peter that they are bound out in a great abyss of blackest darkness called 'Tartarus' which is a term adopted from Greek mythology that has been confirmed to be a real location, (2 Peter 2:4).

By all scriptural descriptions, I am quite confident that this is the same location that modern people now call 'outer space.'

The 'spiritual influence' of demons remains strong because they are capable of 'speaking' with us using a natural technology after which our modern artificial 'high tech' gadgetry is modeled and by which it is being inspired, devised, and created. We experience only their 'spirit' in much the same way you are only experiencing my 'spirit' right now as I write and you read my words. I am quite real even though I am separated from you in a physical sense. Scripture also repeatedly confirms the reality of such experiences:

"For I, on my part, though absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged him who has so committed this, as though I were present: in the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are assembled, and I with you in spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus." (1 Corinthians 5:3-4).

"For even though I am absent in body, nevertheless I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the stability of your faith in Christ." (Colossians 2:5).

The inferior 'high tech' is allowing us to imagine the pre-existing and far superior 'original' version maintained by God through the Holy Spirit. We now have these lesser interactive allegories to help us understand and be less afraid of experiencing divine technologies.

It is quite clear to me that demons and angels both interacted directly with humans in a material way early on in our development. Yahweh God no longer allows this, at least for now. The devil's children may well be guided out to meet the physical counterparts to the 'spirits' that have been inspiring them with ideas of space travel. However, it does not appear from scripture that demons will ever been able to 'visit' earth again other than as spiritual influences. All that awaits them is 'judgment.'

The same is not true of angels. They are described as walking among us in the Holy Spirit once we are more 'like them' (Luke 20:36) and more capable of appreciating what they are and fully represent. We will someday experience them as much more than agents of God in their current roles as 'spirits sent to minister to those who are inheriting salvation.' (Hebrews 1:14).
