How can I have an excellent spirit like Daniel?

Daniel 1:1 - 21

ESV - 1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. 2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the vessels of the house of God. The book of Daniel offers the following steps to developing an excellent spirit:

Have a regular and active prayer life (even in difficult circumstances), in which you seek God's guidance, and ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Put your faith into practice through your actions.

Discipline your mind and body to avoid things that are harmful, as Daniel did by not eating from the king's table. As Paul said in 1 Corinthians 6:12 and 1 Corinthians 10:23, all things are lawful for Christians, but not all things are expedient, are helpful, or build them up, and they should not allow themselves to be controlled by anything except God.

Remain loyal to God, including in circumstances where you are tempted to forget Him or disobey Him.
