Some thoughts: Being a believer does not mean that we will never experience adversity, as happened to Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. Take situations that you cannot deal with to God, as Mary and Martha did in informing Jesus that Lazarus was sick. God's timing and purposes are not necessarily the same as ours (as indicated by Jesus' delay in responding to the notification that Lazarus was ill), but are still intended for both His glory and our ultimate (eternal if not also temporal) good. Maintain faith (as Martha did), no matter how dire a situation may seem from a human perspective.
John 11:11: These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. Martha’s encounter with our Lord Jesus in Bethany showed her humbleness and faith in God the Father. For she said unto the Lord Jesus, “But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.” (John 11:22) Lord Jesus knew that He would raise Lazarus, for He then saw her love and faith in God the Father and Him, He groaned in the spirit and was then troubled. For the people who were with her were led to be in tears as He came after four days as Lazarus was already laid in the grave. (John 11:17,33) The memorial work which was done by Mary to our Lord Jesus (Mat 26:13) and then being called by Him, she quickly arose and came unto Him and those who comforted her at home followed her. (John 11:28, 31) Martha’s understanding of whatever Lord Jesus would ask His Father was redemption on the last day, but the Lord said unto her, "I am the resurrection and those who believe in faith though they are dead shall live." The faith in her and her sister and the love that He showed unto the people that He had for every child of God the Father, for the glory of God is upon His Son Lord Jesus for those who believe in Him be glorified. (John 11:4,40) Many a time today, in this world that we live in, we tend to lose our faith in God the Father and our Lord Jesus. For the Spirit of truth, our Comforter, we having faith in God, will guide us in truth and will show us the things to come and not to lose our faith in God the Father. (John 16:7,13) If one tends to have indignation towards a church today, one will be led to go astray as Judas Iscariot. (Mat 26:14) Therefore we need to be careful of nothing of this world that we live in, but keep everything in prayer and supplication with thanksgiving and let our request be known unto God, for then all things will come to pass. (Phil 4:6) Psalm 41:2: The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
