This is only my interpretation when it's written: "Turn your ear to me, come quickly to my rescue; be my rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me." I believe it's referring to the Lord being our salvation and foundation of our faith. When David wrote this he was praying and urgently asking the Lord to answer his prayer.
