If I am understanding the question correctly, I would say that, as the manna was a miraculously-provided form of sustenance that God gave to the Israelites in the wilderness after their exodus from Egypt to enable their PHYSICAL survival, so Christ (as He Himself explained) was a supernatural form of sustenance provided by God who would, through His sinless life, sacrificial death, and resurrection, provide the means for SPIRITUAL survival (that is, eternal life) to anyone who would have faith in that sacrifice -- rather than in any action that they would or could perform -- to achieve that objective, with the main difference between the two types being that, as Jesus said in John 6:30-59, anyone who ate of the manna still died at a later time, but faith in the spiritual "food" provided by Christ provides an everlasting means of spiritual nourishment.
Good question, Becky! One of my favorite Bible verses is John 6:35: “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” "Jesus' giving of his flesh and blood is a reiteration of the gift of bread from heaven." --Susan Hylen "Manna symbolized Jesus Christ, who is 'the living bread' (John 6:51). In the context of the miraculous feeding of bread and fish to 5,000 people near the Sea of Galilee, Jesus taught the people that He was 'the bread of life.' He said, 'I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger.... Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.... I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eats of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh' (John 6:35, 49, 51)." --Bible Central Bible Central has A LOT more interesting info! You can follow up on it there! It's under Manna: Symbol of Jesus Christ. E.g. "God called the manna 'bread' (Ex. 16:12, cf. V. 15). Exodus 16:12, 15 English Standard Version 12 “I have heard the grumbling of the people of Israel. Say to them, ‘At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread. Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God.’ ” 15 When the people of Israel saw it, they said to one another, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, “It is the bread that the Lord has given you to eat." "Jesus called Himself the 'bread of life' and the 'living bread' (John 6:48, 51)."--Donald W. Parry "In Jn 6:31-63, our Lord frequently refers to 'the manna' or 'bread from heaven' as typical of Himself. Paul (1 Cor 10:3) refers to it as 'spiritual food,' and in Rev 2:17 we read, 'To him that overcometh, to him will I give of the hidden manna.'" --E. W. G. Masterman "The manna in Exodus was a picture or type of God’s Son. Jesus came to give Himself as the Bread of Life for hungry sinners. The only way to be saved from eternal death is to receive Him into our inner being, similar as the body receives food. Wiersbe puts it this way: 'Just as the Jews had to stoop and pick up the manna, and then eat it, so sinners must humble themselves and receive Jesus Christ within. The Jews ate the manna and eventually died, but whoever receives Jesus Christ will live forever.” --kdmanestreet.com
