To have a mind or head knowledge of something is not to experience that something. Suppose you have always wanted to go to a certain place or to do a certain activity, say Isreal and walk through Jerusalem or ride a boat across the Sea of Galilee, you could get on the internet or get many books and look at pictures and read multitudes of articles, but you still have not Experienced in a Personal way the reality of being there. It is the same with Experiencing God. One can go to a church and hear about God, or even read the Bible, but until one been Supernaturally BORN Again and Indwelled by The Holy Spirit you have not Experienced God. [ John 3:3-6 ]. Jesus says in His Word some will come before Him in the judgment and say didn't I do acts in your name and Jesus says depart, I never knew you [Matthew 7: 21-23 ]. So to experience God is to know Him by being Born Again, and He knowing you by indwelling you by the Holy Spirit [ 1 Corinthians 2:1-11 ].

To accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and begin to obey Him. Because, you see, in Him (Jesus Christ) dwells the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Colossians 2:9 and in Him, we have complete fullness of life. Col.2:10. Thanks.
I believe that when the phrase “see your face” is used that’s what’s being referenced. Let me know the things that please God and know the things that do not - that’s what is being asked for here. Imagine talking to someone without seeing their face; you’re not sure of their response. But if you see their face, you know.
