Why do people address God by other names besides Father if Jesus told us to address Him as Father?

Matthew 6:9 - 13

ESV - 9 Pray then like this: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Daniel, I have thought about this as well; and I believe that many of God's people may not truly understand what Jesus' death and resurrection has done for us.

Jesus did not die for us just to be forgiven, but to bring us into a place of oneness with He and the Father. It is the will of God for us to know Him as Father because we are His children.

Calling God our Father speaks of having an intimate relationship with Him. It is possible that most still see Him as this distant God, and not One who desires to have a deeper relationship with His children.
