I think that God has a special purpose for single mothers, who are sometimes forced into such situations. And God blesses them too.

God is a God of love and He primarily wants to bring us all to repentance from our sin. For some He uses gentle nudges, for some He uses more coarse circumstances in life. Single parent fathers and single parent mothers, which are in the situation they are in because of either bad choices of their own or by bad choices of other people causing it; or simply through tragic life circumstances are all on His list of lost. I came to salvation through difficult life circumstances bringing me very low and when we have nowhere left to go, we see our limitations in total clarity when He reveals Himself to us and when we are single parents we need the best to guide us. God's love speaks to single parents as a whole, mothers and fathers. He is the ultimate loving Father and He wants to help us to find a life worth living in what we from a human sense see as hopeless circumstances. God loves family, and whole, broken, and blended are part of our world right now. If we are blessed to have a healthy complete set in our households we should keep a humble non-judgmental heart and feel the need to extend the hand of love and friendship to those who don't. Many single parents are victims of judgment of various measures when circumstances are presumed instead of known and it is unfortunate when this is at the expense of church attendance. I believe God says to single parents - come drink of the water of life and thirst no more.

What does God have to say to single mothers? Single motherhood can be one of life's most demanding callings. It often means carrying responsibilities that feel too heavy for one person, making sacrifices few people see, and finding strength for another day when physical and emotional reserves run low. The Bible speaks with warmth and compassion to mothers in those circumstances and reveals a God who sees every effort, understands every burden, and promises faithful support. One of Scripture's most comforting truths is that God pays special attention to those who feel alone. Psalm 68:5 describes Him as "a father of the fatherless and a protector of widows." These words reveal God's heart toward families facing challenges. He sees both the parent carrying the load and the children who depend upon that parent's care. God's compassion is evident in Hagar's account. Alone in the wilderness and uncertain about the future, she cried out in distress. God saw her situation, heard her plea, and provided what she needed for herself and her son (Genesis 16:7-13; 21:17-19). Hagar learned that Jehovah notices struggles that others may never see. The widow of Zarephath faced poverty while trying to care for her child. Rather than providing years of supplies all at once, God gave what was needed day by day (1 Kings 17:8-16). Many single mothers experience life similarly. Strength often comes one day at a time, not all at once. Jesus also showed special kindness toward struggling parents. When he encountered a widow grieving the loss of her only son, he was moved with compassion and acted to help her (Luke 7:11-15). His response reflects God's concern for those carrying heavy responsibilities. For many single mothers, daily challenges can include managing finances, preparing meals, helping with homework, handling household tasks, providing emotional support, and making important decisions alone. In moments like these, practical faith becomes essential. Begin each day with a brief prayer, even if only a few sentences. Ask God for wisdom, patience, and strength for the next twenty-four hours rather than trying to solve every future concern at once. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages believers to bring their anxieties to God in prayer, allowing His peace to guard their hearts. Another practical step is to celebrate small victories. A completed school assignment, a family meal around the table, a peaceful conversation with a child, or a problem handled successfully reminds you that progress is being made. God often works through ordinary acts of love and faithfulness. When exhaustion builds, allow space for rest when possible. Even Jesus sought quiet moments for prayer and renewal (Mark 1:35). A few minutes reading Scripture, taking a walk, or sitting quietly with God can refresh the mind and restore perspective. Single mothers may sometimes wonder whether their efforts truly matter. The example of Eunice offers encouragement. Along with Lois, she helped shape Timothy's faith from childhood (2 Timothy 1:5; 3:15). Her consistent influence helped form a servant of God whose life benefited many others. A mother's prayers, guidance, and example can leave a lasting spiritual legacy. Isaiah 40:29 provides a beautiful promise: "He gives power to the tired one and full might to those lacking strength." God does not expect mothers to carry every burden alone. He invites them to lean on Him. God's message to single mothers is filled with dignity, comfort, and hope. He sees every sacrifice, every late night, every difficult decision, and every act of love. Psalm 55:22 says: Cast thy burden upon Jehovah, and he will sustain thee: He will never suffer the righteous to be moved. Though the road may feel lonely at times, God remains close. He cares deeply for both mother and child and promises strength for today, guidance for tomorrow, and hope for the future.
