Let me start by stating that if Jesus was not resurrected there would be no proof that "second death" (eternal death where there is no resurrection) was conquered and no one can claim "Death where is thy sting, grave, where is thy victory?"(I Cor.15:55). No resurrection for Jesus meant no resurrection for others and God's promise is a bogus. Additionally, it would mean the name and credibility of God the Father on which the "faith of Jesus" was anchored would go to "dust", and on -and-on, ad-infinitum. The ramifications would have been disastrous. Proof is so important that Jesus stayed on earth post resurrection for 40 days and be seen by many witnesses (Acts 1:1-5). Also, the 12 apostles, about 500 members of the church saw him alive after his death and was seen also by Paul (I Cor. 15:1-7). Remember, doubts were and still present about Jesus' resurrection. Even when the women who found an "empty tomb" on the 1st day of the week was not believed by Thomas who required "touching" the resurrected Jesus with his own hands(John 20:24-27). Also in the 1st century in Corinth, there were those in the church that Paul had to admonish because of entertaining doubt about Jesus' resurrection (I Cor. 15:12-19). Jesus indeed resurrected and was seen by many credible witnesses, even by "doubting Thomas". This fact is so important for proof to us humans but also to the "fallen angels" (1 Peter 3:19-20) that the death of their Creator YHVH ELOHIM is imputed as punishment for sins of "all created beings", and that they have hope.
