Serving God is the reason man was created. We serve out of the joy and gladness that we have such a loving Creator God who is toward us who are His; a true genuine Father in every sense of the word. He is longsuffering with us, patient toward us, kind toward us, always deals with us in steadfast love. He never correcting us according to the measure we deserve. He has provided for us a mediator in His beloved son Jesus, who is also our advocate before our Father God and our High Priest. We serve God not out of obligation but out of joy and thanksgiving, for all He is to us every moment of every day; with the realization that we are never alone because we are always in the presence of our God and our Father, the God and Father of our lord Jesus who serves us in so many way we do not see constantly guiding us to walk on the narrow path that leads to new age life in the coming Kingdom which he will rule over! Indeed we serve God with joy and thanksgiving for all He has been to us. May we ever do so for the ages upon ages to come and glory in His name, YaHoVaH.
The bible has a lot to say about our good works. First, in Matthew 7:21-23 That no amount of good works can save a sinner. Without the Spirit of God their is no salvation. We are sealed by the Holy Spirit when we believe and receive the free gift of salvation by grace. After we are saved, the bible tells us let our good works be shown before men that they my glorify God. And, it also says to do good works not to be seen of men to earn rewards in heaven. We should all do good works. For the unsaved, they will be judged by there works. Hell is hotter for some than others. For believers, we will also be judged for our works for rewards in heaven. Our sin debt has been paid in full, and so we know we have eternal life. John 5:24 But how we live and what we do after we are saved determines our rewards for eternity. Jesus said, to lay up treasure in heaven where moth and rust do not corrode. Eternal life is a free gift by faith alone, Romans 3:28, and Romans 11:6. But our works determine our rewards in heaven. Romans 4:4-5 Works have nothing to do with salvation. All are rewarded heaven by faith alone without works. Just by believing on His name. John 1:12 So we should do good works for rewards in heaven. Whether they are seen by men or not. But we are to do good works to glorify our heavenly Father who has given us eternal life through the Free gift of His Son. We are to forgive others their trespasses because Jesus has forgiven us all our trespasses and given us eternal life. Colossians 2:13. We can never be condemned again. John 3:18. Since we are all sinners, we should not judge others by every little thing they do and remember we are not so hot either. Genuine humility comes from First John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive our selves and the truth is not in us. When we realize we have done most of the sins that others do, and remember how the Lord has already forgiven us for all sin, then we are not so quick to judge others which glorifies God. We were given two commandments. First John 3:23 And this is His commandment, that we should believe on the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another as He gave us commandment. The first commandment gives us eternal life, and the second our rewards in heaven.
We serve God by believing and following Jesus (John 12: 26), and we are not a servant of God anymore but become children of God (John 1: 12-13) and a friends of Jesus (John 15: 9-17). Since Jesus is the way. The truth and the life (John 14: 6); without serving God by believing and following Jesus, we will be perished (John 3: 16-17).
