The key difference between creationism and evolution comes down to our certainty about everything we think we know. Think about it: if our five senses and our brains are merely the product of rando...

Evolution says that we have progressed over millions of years from a simple microbe to a mouse to a monkey and finally a human and that process requires many mutations to DNA plus natural selection acting together. To explain evolution more fully, one can say that the information to make a microbe is written in a book 100 pages long with 3 million letters whereas a human will require 46 volumes each of 2,500 pages with over 3 billion letters. So evolution in fact states that jumbling up the instructions in the 100 page microbe book (called mutations) plus making many copies will result in the human book. Natural selection is said to chuck out the bad copies and only keep the good ones. First of all, mutations do not lead to better instructions just loss of information. Just like if I jumbled all the letters in this article you would not be able to read it because information would be lost. In biology DNA, over time, does not add information it loses it. That is why we age, get cancer and other diseases. And natural selection cannot select small mutational changes in DNA only on gross changes like hairy dogs living better in the arctic than hairless dogs. All of biology and the universe has incredible design that only God (Jesus) could have effected. The bible tells us in Romans 5, that we live in a fallen world through the sin of Adam and Eve and death and suffering followed. Evolution would have death and suffering occurring for millions of years before Adam and Eve. Sadly, many of my colleagues in science have become atheists because of the evolution lie. And this lie taught to our children from the age of 13 years on has caused many a Christian to fall away from following Jesus Christ. So your world view is very important. You can be an evolutionist and believe in the salvation message of Christ and be saved. However an evolutionary worldview can lead to eternal death (ie atheistic thinking) whereas the creation worldview leads to eternal salvation and fellowship with God. The bible is absolute truth and, we are told, will be here forever (1Peter 1:25) even when our world and universe disappear. Whereas science change over time and must not be made the 67th book of the bible.
The twenty-first century has immensely evolved from its preceding centuries to a place and time which almost seems foreign to me. I am not just talking about the advancement of technology, machinery, electronics, media, computers, etc, but I am also referring to the very essence of humankind. Where did common courtesy, self-respect, love for our fellow man and human decency go? The majority of this new generation have either lost or never had a sacred connection to God. Try engaging a spiritual conversation with young adults of today and I bet the first words to sprout from their lips would entail an idealized perception about Greek philosophers’ theory of evolution; they appear completely devoid of faith in our Heavenly Father, but who are proud self-proclaimed atheists. The power of wisdom seems to elude the majority of these young souls as it is brilliantly described in the following scriptures. Proverbs 8:22-29 “The Lord brought me forth as the first of His works, before His deeds of old; I was formed long ages ago, at the very beginning, when the world came to be. When there were no watery depths, I was given birth, when there were no springs overflowing with water; before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was given birth, before He made the world or its fields or any of the dust of the earth. I was there when He set the heavens in place, when He marked out the horizon on the face of the deep, when He established the clouds above and fixed securely the fountains of the deep, when He gave the sea its boundary so the waters would not overstep His command, and when he marked out the foundations of the earth.” Sometimes I sit and ponder in my own solitude of spirituality about why this culture of people are so lost and captivated by a world of spiritual darkness. I sit consumed by thoughts of why the greater part of our youth tend to lack understanding about the true creator and creations in this earth, including the conception of our very existence. As a seasoned Christian everything, all human understanding and knowledge is made clear through God’s Word as well as in all the beauty that surrounds us daily. It would appear these lost souls are unable to really grasp the glory of the sun; the twinkling of countless stars; the nightlight of the moon; the trees, hills, dry land and mountains which are meticulously scattered across the earth separating vast bodies of water. There is not one single human being alive with the brain power or propensity to create such divine perfection and magnificence. What is evolution? I think it is nothing more than a form of “devil-ution” a phrase coined to describe the devil’s quest to win souls through his great lies by deceiving them into believing that life derived from non-life and the evolutionary descent of man from animal. Why is this ridiculous theory so easily accepted by millions of people across the globe? God laid out a perfect foundation of this universe and expounded upon every aspect of life, death and after life in the Bible. He equipped us with a road map to survive in times of temptations, weakness, sickness and all other aspects of life’s many tribulations. However, it is up to each and every one of us to seek the truth, teach the truth, live by the truth and to die by the truth which is detailed in the Word of God. Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” As Christians we need to unify as one Church under the helm of God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit (the Trinity) to restore the faithless unbelieving souls that are being deceived by Satan. Christ makes it clear in His Word that He did not come to earth for the saved, but that He came to save the sinners from their own ignorance. The greatest sacrifice of all time was Jesus Christ dying to pay the debt for our sins and every time the gift of salvation is rejected by blasphemy it is like spitting at the Cross that shed innocent blood of our savior. We must stand in faith and pray for wisdom and strength to accept this free gift as well as to helping others through our forgiveness and God’s grace to understand and receive the true gift of eternal life (as so eloquently spoken by Paul in the following scriptures). 1 Timothy 1:12-15 “I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.” The Bible teaches that the truth will set us free; but how will we ever achieve freedom if we continue to live in blindness due to the lies of the devil. Contrary to popular belief, God is real and reigns in His Kingdom and He has given each of us the key to unlock the free gift of eternal life for all who believe, overcome, and who choose to live by His Word and accepting His Son, Jesus Christ as Savior, unequivocally believing in His resurrection. John 8:31-32 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” 1 John 5:13 “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” Peace, joy, hope, faith, grace and love in Christ Jesus, Blessings!
Many people ask me, "What difference does it make, whether God used evolution or special creation, what matters is accepting Jesus as Saviour?" My answer is always, "If you believe in evolution, then your faith is a lie, believing in Jesus or no." You see, a perfect creation and subsequent fall from grace, is the very basis of the Christian faith. If we accept that Jesus is our 'Redeemer' then what is He redeeming? The word 'redeem' means to buy, or purchase, something back, something that was sold or lost. What then is Jesus redeeming for us? He is redeeming our perfect state, the condition that we were in when God, through Jesus (The Word), created us, the perfect state of all creation, "He saw that it was good." That perfect state was lost when Eve and then Adam, disobeyed God, realised the difference between good and evil, and lost their state of perfection, along with all creation. Let's think about that situation if God had used evolution to populate the Earth, by asking a few questions. Q. Under evolution was there ever a point at which life was perfect? The answer has to be 'No', because evolution is based on death, the death on one in favour of the next and better version. Q. Was there a point in the evolution of man where man fell from God's grace? No we cannot identify any point, nor could there be a point at which this happened, because evolution is a continuous improvement of a creature. This is the opposite to creation, where life started as a perfect creation (ordered) and then fell (into entropy); evolution starts with entropy and progresses toward order. Therefore, under evolution there was never a perfect state to be lost, and nothing therefore to be redeemed. If evolution is true then it makes Jesus superfluous to need, and there would make everything Jesus stood for a lie, making faith in Him also a lie. If evolution is true, and that God guided it to create this world, then we are exactly what God intended us to be and no need for Jesus to die for our sins. Looking around this world, watching the TV News and reading the newspapers, I cannot believe that human kind is as God wanted us, how He designed us. So yes, creation is important, it is crucially important, otherwise we are living a lie. To believe that I am the result of an incredibly long-shot accident, billions of years ago, would make me look at this world through jaundiced eyes, seeing my fellow man as worthless and unimportant, just another animal on this planet. I am not, however the product of that trillions to one accident, I was specially made in God's image, just as all other people were and are. I value each and every creature created by my God for a reason, a purpose, and that creature has value because God created it, each animal, plant flower and tree is a treasure and a gift from our creator. I have purpose, I am not here by accident, I am loved by God as a creation of His, and He breather into me the spark of life at the moment of conception.
I once believed that Darwinian evolution was true. Eventually, I felt that I needed to do some research to determine whether creation or evolution is true. For me, if evolution were true then the Bible could not be accurate, as throughout the Scriptures God is mentioned as being the Creator. What one believes regarding origins will reflect how one views life. If God only created elements of matter and allowed nature to develop matter and life, that could very well cause one to believe that humans evolved from lower life forms and humans would therefore be viewed as being nothing more than animals that evolved from lower life forms, such as apes. If one does not believe in creation, they would not believe that humans were created in God’s image. After I concluded my research, I wrote a book comparing the arguments of evolutionists and creationists so that anyone else who is struggling with what to believe would not have to go through what did to figure out what to believe. The name of my book is “Evolution or Creation? A Comparison of the Arguments” (third edition). Yes, there is a difference what one believes.
Creationism vs. Evolution should have no bearing whatsoever on how a person views the world today. This world is what it is; a sinful place. How it came to be matters little. It has always been a sinful place and will be until Jesus returns. The primary thing that really matters in today's world is whether you believe Jesus died to save all of mankind. If you do, Hallelujah! If not, will you be less moral? Are you a bad person if you don't know Jesus? I know plenty of bad people who know Jesus and it didn't seem to stop them from committing immoral acts. The concepts of stealing and murder were immoral long before Moses received the 10 Commandments. But I digress from the original question. Unlike Mr. Houdmann's opinion, morality is not something with which you were born. Right and wrong are taught to you. How you treat others is taught to you. Religious, cultural, political and economical factors will form your view of the world. Knowing whether creationism or evolution formed the world will not factor into your morality or current world view. Whether the earth was formed in 6 days or 6 billion years, is of little use today. I cannot prove either hypothesis, scientifically or otherwise, and neither can anyone else. Scientists have not proven how the earth was formed; they can only conjecture. Some Christians believe God did it in 6 days. Is their faith stronger than science? For them, it is. Again, it doesn't matter. It really doesn't. If you are right with Jesus Christ, you're good to go.
