Many years ago as a new Christian, I found myself in this very situation with my beloved husband even threatening me with divorce because I had become a Christian. I firmly believe in the power of prayer and obeying the the Scriptures and after seven long years of persevering in faith, with many dear Saints of God praying with me for my husband's soul. One evening, our pastor called with one goal in mind, and that was to lead him to Christ. I knew there was a prayer group at our church praying that night, and to my absolute amazement and delight, my husband that night gave his life to Lord and has never looked back since! By God's grace, he even gave up his smoking habit and stopped taking drink. Up to that point, I had only been allowed to go to church once a month, and Christmas and Easter. Apart from taking our little ones to Sunday School, I had to be home straight after. After our pastor left, we sat up talking for hours. I will never, ever forget the joy in my heart as it dawned on me that this was for real, my husband was genuinely saved! We are grandparents now and joyfully serve The Lord together in whatever He gives us to do. Praise His Name. What I want to say to anyone reading this testimony, be encouraged. Persevere in prayer and quietly live out your Christian life, leave the rest to God. Trust Him.
