I would say it depends on how you're asking the question. On the one hand, because God does exist and because all things that have come into existence have done so through God - then no, nobody can live without God as everyone is dependent upon Him for their existence. However, if the question is more asking if people need to rely on God, then I think the answer could be no - however, those people that reject God and rely on their own abilities (which of course ironically are from God), will face an unpleasant encounter with God when they finally do meet him.

If the question is "can man live with God"....we first need to understand who is God and who is man. From a biblical perspective, God is the creator and maker of all things. God does not exist; rather he is the existence. Without him nothing exists. God is everywhere. This means there is no place God is not. Without God nothing can exist....everything exists because of him. Can man live without God? Nothing can exist without God.

John 15:5 — I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. In the life of faith, a simple preposition determines the final result: With Jesus, everything is possible. Without Jesus, nothing is possible. Philippians 4:13 says this positively, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” All things. Through Christ. In Jesus, everything is possible. In John 15:5, Jesus states this truth negatively: “Apart from me you can do nothing.” The preposition is “apart”... from Jesus. The result is: nothing, not anything, naught, no single thing. Without Jesus, nothing of value is possible!

Basically, I say this. Yes, man can physically live in this world without accepting God in his life, but I know for fact they will not be completely happy. They will spend their life seeking to fulfill that void..that being God. God is omnipresence meaning He is everywhere, in everything we do...all at the same time. He is even with those so-called atheist agnostics, whether they chose to acknowledge him or not. At the end of the day, we all know all humans, we will die, physically but with God and with accepting God, we know that our spirit will live on forever with Him in the kingdom. With God, life is so much better; fewer worries and cares as He tells us to cast them on Him (1 Peter 5:7). When you turn to everything else and nothing gives you peace, joy, unconditional love, and happiness; God is always there, has always been there, and will forever be there for you. (Isaiah 41:10).

Can man live without God? On this subject, three scriptures come to mind: 1. Jeremiah 10: 23 ESV: "O Jehovah, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps." WHAT IT MEANS: Humans were not created to rule themselves. They do a poor job of governing other people and solving their problems. 2. John 17: 3 ESV: "And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, even Jesus Christ." To live forever, we need to 'come to know' God. That means much more than merely acknowledging that God exists or knowing a few facts about him. 3. Psalm 36:9 ESV: "For with thee is the fountain of life: In thy light shall we see light." We owe our lives to God, not only because he created man, but also because he has allowed humanity to continue to this day and has provided the means to sustain life. (Acts 14:16, 17) However, Human beings can survive biologically without acknowledging God. Still, the deeper question is whether they can live in a way that fully satisfies the longings of the mind, heart, and moral conscience. Throughout history, people have tried to build meaning on foundations such as achievement, pleasure, knowledge, or power. These can sustain activity, but they struggle to answer the deeper questions that inevitably arise in human experience: Why am I here? What is the purpose of my existence? What defines right and wrong? What gives life lasting value? When people attempt to live without any reference to God, they often construct their own systems of meaning. These systems can be sincere and thoughtful, yet they remain limited because they depend entirely on human perspective. Human understanding changes, cultures shift, and moral standards evolve. Without a transcendent anchor, meaning becomes something we invent rather than something we discover. This leaves individuals vulnerable to emptiness when their chosen source of purpose fails, fades, or contradicts itself. Living without God also raises the question of moral grounding. If morality is only a human creation, then it has no ultimate authority beyond preference or social agreement. Many people still choose to live ethically, but the foundation beneath those choices becomes subjective. In contrast, belief in God provides an objective reference point for justice, dignity, and responsibility—something that does not depend on shifting human opinion. On a personal level, people often sense a longing for connection that goes beyond relationships, accomplishments, or possessions. This longing appears in art, philosophy, and the quiet moments of life when distractions fade. It reflects a desire for meaning that is not merely temporary. When people live without God, they may silence this longing, but it rarely disappears. It tends to resurface in times of suffering, reflection, or moral crisis. So while a person can function day‑to‑day without acknowledging God, the deeper dimensions of human life—purpose, identity, morality, hope—remain incomplete. The question is not simply whether man can exist without God, but whether he can truly flourish without the One who gives life its ultimate meaning.
