Genesis 2:24
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife:and they shall be one flesh.

In other words, Marriage is a life time covenant of oneness(in love, unity and protection) between a man and a woman irrespective of religion, race or tribe.

Because God respects covenant, as christians in 2 Corinthians 6:14 Paul the Apostle admonishes; Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

So as a Christian it is expedient to marry from the same house hold of faith.
