Having many doctrines is not necessarily a bad thing, e.g. The divinity of Christ is a doctrine, the Trinity is another doctrine, Biblical inerrancy is another doctrine. Doctrines are official Church teachings, and the Church has many teachings, hence many doctrines, all are true. The problem lies when doctrines start to get questioned, and instead of resolving the doubts, people leave the Church and start their own. A group of people started to question the divinity of Christ, and instead of dialogue and debates, they choose to leave the Church and start their own, teaching that Christ is not God. (INC, Jehovah's witness, Mormons) Now we have churches that teach Jesus is God and churches that teach the opposite.
2 Timothy 4:3: For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears. Mankind today has failed to discern in the right spirit. As it is written, "There is none righteous, no not one, none that understand, none that seeketh after God." (Rom 3:10-11) For they come and sit in the church just as the elders who came before Prophet Ezekiel and sat before him, though being outwardly loyal to the Lord, but inwardly to other gods of their fleshly desires. (Eze 14:1-3) If the teacher being a man-pleaser will tend to please the church, God will then send strong delusion through him by his doctrine who shall believe in a lie (2 Thes 2:11), and then be led to be deceived. For they shall not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lust shall heap to themselves teachers having itching ears and turn from the truth. (2 Tim 4:3) Satan takes control over one’s life in different ways that mankind fails to understand, just as the ones who were brought to our Lord Jesus who were born dumb and deaf, and Lord Jesus rebuked the foul spirit to come out of them and enter no more into them. (Mark 7:33/9:25) As the foul spirit can lead one to have obstacles, the Spirit has expressly said that during the latter times, some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines that come from devils, and be seduced by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared with a hot iron. (1 Timothy 4:1-2). Mankind, having the worldly desires to eat the fruit of their own ways (Pro 1:31), then puts a stumbling block (obstacle) in their lives, like the elder son who took his share of his inheritance from his father, and when he lost it, he grieved, and then arose and came back to his father. He confessed, "I have sinned against heaven and in thy sight," who wasted his substances with riotous living. (Luke 15:6,22,23) Ezekiel 14:3: Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumbling block of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?
