Out of flawed, earthen vessels come sweet, undefiled waters...

"But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:14 ESV

The deeply checkered history of the Catholic Church can be likened to the image of feet of clay found in the book of Daniel.

"And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. And [as] the toes of the feet [were] part of iron, and part of clay, [so] the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. Daniel 2:41 - 43. KJV

We see in Daniel, that through our arch enemy--Satan himself--the war instigated in Heaven has continued on Earth. But God has preserved the Word, through countless wars and all manner of attacks, down through the ages. A history rife with peril; multiple attempts to utterly destroy Christianity; a Catholic Church, often run by evil men... Principalities bent on suppressing God's truth...

Yet... The Word of God survives--even through ages of intolerance, designed by Satan to picture the True Faith in Jesus as nothing more than nonsense built on feeble premise. Such supposed nonsense, goes the thinking of the enemies of Christianity, can be easily disputed by intelligent, godless polemic. Yet, the Truth of Christ has survived such attack--often disguised in intellectual clothing, tainted by ever increasing agnostic pathways that eventually lead to complete isolation from God. Agnostic thought couched in reasoned questioning, the gateway to the totality of atheism. The maturation of this movement over the centuries was the fruition of Marxist thought... The way for Marxism was paved by the amalgamation of the Early Church with pagan forces in the days of Constantine.

Thus, the Papacy in practice functioned both as attempted destroyer, and through the sure hand and aegis of God, the preserver of the Faith.

Yet, in the fight for hearts, minds and souls of mankind, thanks to the work of the Holy Spirit, scribes managed to preserve the Word; teachers succeeded in instructing believers, and the Story of the Ages has survived through the thick and thin of Papal history, until the Reformation assured the permanence of the Christian message.

Satan tried to eradicate the Life of Jesus, in every way possible; from marginalizing the Greatest Story Ever Told, all the way to wiping out His memory, as witnessed by the Russian Revolution.

But it didn't work...

“When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory. And before him shall be gathered all nations; and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats. And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, ‘Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat; I was thirsty and ye gave me drink, I was a stranger and ye took me in," Matthew 25:31-35 KJV

While history has always given us true believers, separate from the political miasma that often accompanied the Catholic Church, God worked through the Papacy and our Bible has been preserved, perfect and inviolate.

This is a great question because the Bible itself says that it is the Holy Word of God and that nothing should be added to it.
Revelation 22:18-19 ESV

I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

The Bible says that a person must be born again. Jesus said Repent and believe. Jesus himself (and He was sinless and God Himself) still was required by His Father in heaven to be baptized. He wasn't baptized as an infant.
Colossians 2:8 ESV

See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

The Catholic church even teaches that if you are not a Roman Catholic that you can't go to heaven. They have taught a lot of error. We are supposed to test every teaching to see if it agrees with Scripture. The Catholic church wants its people to obey the teaching of the Church and of the Pope where the Bible says that we must obey the will of Father God and know Jesus personally. That is relationship instead of religion. Matthew 7:21-23 ESV

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

In John 17 we have Jesus praying to His Father God. Jesus taught His followers to pray Our Father who is in heaven. Jesus never prayed to anyone other than His Father.
He taught His followers to pray to Father God in His name. John 17:1-3 ESV

When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.

The Bible says the same thing that it does about the Catholic Church specifically as it does the Baptist denomination, or the Orthodox branch... which is - nothing.

While Catholics like to believe that Peter was the first Pope, Peter himself would have had no notion of what that was or meant, and the Bible never makes any type of reference.

The rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth. (Daniel 2:35) Go and make disciples of all nations. (Matthew 28:19)

I do not know of any other church that has taken Christ's mandate, to make disciples of ALL nations, to heart and did it like the Catholic Church. She is on every country in the world, except for Saudi Arabia. She fulfills the prophesy of Daniel about the rock that turned into a huge mountain. She filled the whole earth.
