I'm going to a camp led by him this Summer, and I'm just wandering how one should view him. He is supposed to be a very reputable charismatic, and I am certain that through Jesus he changes lives (although I am aware of a modern 'charismatic' movement based solely around glossolalia).

In my opinion the emphasis on seeking charismatic experiences in order to have a closer walk with the Lord Jesus is wrong. Mike Pilavachi and those he associates with are charismatics who make this emphasis - especially through the Soul Survivor meetings. Don't simply follow a person because he is popular and has a wide audience. Check out their teachings to see whether it ties in with Bible truth - as did the Bereans in Acts. A useful critique of the man and his ministry may be seen in this blog by 'Reformation Man' @ http://ratio-et-fide.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/soul-survivor-why-i-wont-go.html
