Trust is something that is acquired or gained over a period time with something which in time will eventually lead to having faith in that item. Trust does not come automatically it MUST be tested, tried and proven with the subject matter and once that has been established over a period of time faith will overtake the trust factor. Faith DOES NOT have to be tested, tried or proven. FAITH is the total and complete confidence/allegiance in a thing without wavering. Faith comes after trust has been established.
In my opinion the difference is obvious. Faith refers to believing in something or in case of Christians in God that is not visible, yet our conviction tells us that God is real. As it is not easy to believe without seeing many cultures made their own images of their gods and unfortunately the Catholic Church is just as guilty. I am certain whether my understanding in respect of the images created by the Catholic church and its followers is correct but here we go. Catholic church controlled and to some extend still controls the followers through fear therefore it was easy to refer the followers to a frightening picture of Satan as the example of the evil, and probably made references to the look as the image of all bad. The same idea applies to the many pictures of Jesus, God, saints ets as the symbols of all good and with regards to the saints, as the example of the rewards for the good works done during their lives. On the other hand trust applies both to God and Jesus as well as to us, living humans. We do trust those that we love and respect. God, however is very special, we love Him and have trust in Him at the same time, as there is no love without trust, and in addition our faith is in Christ and in the Father. How much richer our life is from those who have no faith. It is also important to remember that faith and religion are not the same. Religions have been created by men while faith is our direct connection with God who created us.
