Our earthly bodies require rest, therefore the need for sleep. In heaven, there is no need for rest. What we do in heaven is "looking at God", face to face, not through an image or vision, but we see him as he is. (1 John 3:2) Seeing God Almighty only brings about 2 responses: fear and awe. I do no think anyone could fall asleep to that. May God give you peace.
I believe that sleep will be an option; however, not necessary, like eating will be an option and not necessary. What is required on earth is not necessarily a requirement or needed in heaven. Case in point: We need this shell called a body to live in the earth. Jesus had to be born through the same channel that we all have because that is the requirement to live in the earth’s sphere. Now, when Jesus died and was resurrected he came back in a glorified body, a body that has duel performances, a body that can transfigure and move between both spheres without any problems. To add to this after Jesus’ resurrection he met with the disciples and he fixed them dinner and he ate food along with them in his Glorified body (Luke 24:42-43). So based on that if eating is an option i would think sleeping would be an option as well
Absolutely no i conquer with vincent no one would fall asleep looking at God face to face. After the fall, the process of decay or death started. Our bodies were also very much affected by that hence due to the stresses of life we need rest or sleep but in the perfect order of things in heaven no rest is needed i have never read that an angel went to sleep for Jesus being asked about marriage in heaven said there the are like the sons of God. There will be no sleep because in His presence there is fullness of joy. Hallelujah!
I think our best bet is to look at Adam and Eve. When Jesus returns in final judgment, He will redeem both mankind and creation. Heaven will come down to earth, and earth will actually be where we spend eternity with Christ as the our Lord. We are created as both physical and spiritual beings, and this will never change. I don't know that we will require sleep, but we do know that rest is good and healthy. I suspect that if one wanted to take a nap on a warm sunny day while enjoying the beauty of an ocean view on a soft white sandy beach that it would be entirely appropriate.
