"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Romans 10.10

My question is this: Why would you not want to? If you have been convicted through the Law (the Ten Commandments), and through the Holy Spirit brought unto salvation, the one thing you cannot help BUT DO is confess the Lordship of Jesus Christ over everything!

Confessing Christ as Lord is like breathing...you really can't help but do it.

Absolutely! Our confession of Christ with our mouths, is in complete harmony with the bible. Romans chapter 10 verses 9 and 10 says: " If you confess with your mouth that Jesus Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his mouth and so is saved. This helps us to appreciate the fact that confession with the mouth is a prerequisite for Salvation. Jesus himself said at Matthew chapter 10 verses 32 and 33 : "So everyone who acknowledges (confesses) me before men, I also will acknowledge (confess) before my Father who is in heaven; but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven" It is imperative that confession of the Lord Jesus Christ is made with our mouths for anyone to be saved!

Yes of course. Jesus said, "whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven."

Saying we believe in Jesus is not only done with our speech, it can also be done with our actions and our clothing. Should we feel embarrassed to make the sign of the cross before eating our meals in a public cafeteria? How about wearing a crucifix around our necks? How about not setting any appointments on Sunday so we can attend mass? How about speaking out against contraception, abortion, divorce, gay marriage and euthanasia?

If we are embarrassed to confess we believe in Jesus, God have mercy on our souls.
