By reading, studying, hearing and meditating on the WORD. IT TAKES TIME TO DEVELOP A STRONG BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW IN ALL THINGS, BUT IT BEGINS WITH WHAT YOU FIND BY A CONSISTENT STUDY, MEDITATION AND BELIEVE IN THE WORD. What others have written can be of help but always judge it with what is written in the Bible. Men always write with a personal theological bias which you may not be used to and may not be accurate or reliable as such. The Holy Spirit always leads us to all truth which does not contradict the the written word(logos).
When the Bible says to renew your mind, I believe it simply means read the Bible. The more we read the Word of God and get it into our spirits the less we worry. The Bible says that yes, God loves the birds of the air and the flowers of the field but He loves His children much more. Renewing your mind is remembering what God says about you and not what the world says.
Renewing the mind starts with a return to innocence, which starts by giving our lives to Jesus Christ. Through Jesus we then enter into full repentance of our sin, allowing Jesus to absolve our sin, literally cleansing us, returning us to a state of grace, or innocense. In this innocense we enter into full trust and increased faith that God's word is true. In that truth we find the liberating command to not worry, and to bring your burdens to Jesus as His yoke is easy and light. In a practical manner this means that when you can't sleep because of worries, trust that Jesus is working on it and a solution is brewing so you can let it go and rest. Renewing your mind. In the end, when you have Jesus, it's seamless. Just mediate on His love for you, and your mind will be renewed.
Renewing our mind is receiving the mind of Christ. How. Is acts 2:38. Receiving the Spirit of Christ, God in you the hope of glory. Acts 10:45,46. God bless.
1 Corinthians 2:16 “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. The scripture also includes "Do not conform to the ways of this world but TRANSFORM by the renewing of your mind. That is such an important part of that scripture. Also the word 'renewing" not renewal is used. This is a daily and constant process. Also, that there are steps that need to be taken before the process can even begin. I believe that the renewing of your mind begins with letting go of every teaching, thought, tradition, etc. That we have learned from society and/or this world that is not in total and complete agreement with the Bible. Psalm 51:10 tells us to seek a PURE heart and a CLEAN Spirit. We must become as little children/infants and fill our minds with the Pureness of Jesus Our thoughts will become just like His thoughts if we are truly seeking Him with all our heart, soul, mind & strength. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. Jesus says in Matthew 18:3 "Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven." Little children do not judge or hate. I believe that in order to put on the Mind of Christ we must first become as little children; beginning with the mind of a child, pure. Once we are able to completely give up what has been 'learned' from the world, we can begin to fill our minds with the Pureness of our Lord & Savior. We MUST have a pure heart and pure mind to begin so we can absorb and hold onto all the goodness the Bible talks about. Paul tells us in Galatians that the fruits of the Spirit are Pure. Galatians 5:22-23 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. THESE are the things we begin to fill our minds back up with after we have learned to get rid of all worldly learned thoughts and behavior. We show Love to all, we forgive our enemies, we completely let go of materialism. We feed the poor. We give without expecting anything in return. We must mimic Jesus's behavior in order to begin to receive HIS Mind. If we become angry, we do not remain angry; we forgive. If we are tempted to lie, we don't. Our behaviors begin in the mind. Once we the Mind of Christ our thoughts will be 100% different than the world's. Simply put, it is like taking a bottle of dirty water, pouring it out, washing out all the dirt and vile residue from within the bottle and then filling it back up with the cleanest and purest water that was ever created. Matthew 9:17 Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved." Only through the Power of the Lord and the constant seeking of understanding and knowledge through His Word and prayer can this happen. But it Can happen. Those who seek the Lord will all their heart, soul and mind WILL have the Mind of Christ. Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Philipians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. 1 Cor. 2:16 for, "Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
