Hello, I believe we should have clean and godly fun. I also feel it is where your mind and heart are that matters when participating in a hobby. Paul wrote this: And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him the God our Father. (Colossians 3:17) When you choose a hobby, dear brothers and sisters, think for a minute, "What would Jesus choose"? And that may clarify an answer for you when choosing.
Good question, Hairy Animals. I have hobbies such as Scripture Memorization, ebible.com asking and answering questions, biking, guitar and piano playing and singing along with it, mowing grass, weedeating, attending water ski shows, and reading. I try to glorify God in all these hobbies. John Piper says to ask yourself 3 questions: 1. Does it [your hobby] cause your heart to exalt God, or the world? 2. Does it refresh you? 3. Does it point others to Christ?
