How is repentance of paramount relevance and importance in the life of any and every Christian?

For how Jesus teaches in the context of Luke 13:1-5, He tells us that we ought to repent with no thought of what nature of sin has been committed. But many of us will say; when I am in Christ, all should be well despite how I live my life. How are we as Christians to take it in this context?

Luke 13:1 - 5

ESV - 1 There were some present at that very time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And he answered them, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered in this way?
