The fact that God sent a "left-handed" man to deliver Israel is significant to mention, because in a day of hand to hand type battle, a man normally carried his sword in his right hand, and his shield in his left. If you were in battle, you would be watching what the right hand of a man was doing to protect yourself. Ehud hid his "double-edged sword" under the clothing on his right thigh. This implies that he grabbed it with his left hand, and attacked the King of Moab when he was unguarded and unaware that an attack was coming. From a spiritual sense, we must hide the two-edged sword of the spirit, the word of God, in our heart, and be ready to attack our spiritual enemies, and as Ephesians 6 says, "Stand against the wiles of the devil."
