Registered Nurse and a Student of God's only Word, The Bible

I was raised as a "Mormon" (LDS) going back to my Grandfather, but it just never seemed right to me. For years I would tell people I was a Christian, when asked, but I had never even read the Bible. My older brother and I would talk about God's Word from time to time and that peeked my interest. Later, my brother passed away in 1998, but still I was resistant. Then one day I was in a very bad place, mentally, and I was reading one of those little Gideon Bibles and came across this verse, Mark 8:35-36, 35 "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it. 36 "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 

That one verse changed my life forever and I gave my life to the Lord right then and there. That was almost 12 years ago and it was the best thing that has ever happened to me. Don't get me wrong! My life is not perfect and I still struggle with sin, but this I know, Our Lord has forgiven me and died for me and is with me all the time. In Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen!
