How does the Spirit intercede for us with the Father?

Romans 8:26

AMP - 26 So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.

I think what the meaning of the Holy Spirit interceding for us with the Father means is that the Holy Spirit puts the right words in our mouth. Many times in the bible, we are told not to be afraid for the words that must come out of our mouth at times when we speak for or with the Father is given to is by the Holy Spirit. For me, I found praying difficult many times. When I got down on my knees to pray, I found myself at a loss for words. I am truly thankful for everything God has done by my prayers have begun to sound like recitals and repititions rather than a true prayer from the heart. At that moment, I pray for the Holy Spirit to intercede. The Holy Spirit knows our thoughts and mindset so well, He knows what we want to say and need to say even when we ourselves do not.

I find at times there is so much on my heart to pray for. All the needs, causes and people I want to pray for I just get frustrated. God seemed to be telling me to quit talking and just listen. I then get off my knees, lie down to clear my mind and just ask, 'Dear Lord Jesus, what do you want to say to me?' Scripture begins to come to mind, something Jesus said, a Psalm, a Proverb and I begin to just rest in Christ. This is how I believe the Holy Spirit is praying through me. I believe this because it gives me incredible peace and I know that all the things on my heart are known to God and He has it under control.
